CLEAR LAKE — Clear Lake’s City Council tonight will consider extending an agreement with the city of Ventura to provide police services to the community.

The original agreement between the two communities was established in 2006, with the current agreement set to expire on June 30th. City Administrator Scott Flory says in a memo to the council that in accordance with the provisions of the agreement, the city of Ventura has notified the city of Clear Lake of its interest in renewing the agreement.

The proposed extension is for a three-year period starting on July 1st and ending in June 2026. The proposed extension provides for a 5% annual increase in the cost of the services. Year one of the agreement will be for $150,000, year two being $157,500, and the final year being $165,375.

The Clear Lake City Council will consider the agreement at their meeting tonight at City Hall at 6 o’clock.
