Mason City Public Library Fall Library Challenge

It’s time to Fall into Reading with the Mason City Public Library! There are free and fun library challenges available for most ages. All Fall Library Challenges will run from September 27 – November 12.

Children ages 2-11 will track their reading and activity progress to earn tickets to enter into the prize drawings of their choice. Enjoy a fall scavenger hunt, fun crafts, check out cool books, and more! All participants will receive a free book of their choice. Grand prizes include a coding robot, a $50 Now & Then gift card, a $50 Turtle Creek Pottery gift card, a $25 Amazon gift card, and more!

Teens ages 12-18 can stop at the Youth Services desk to participate in the Fall Library Challenge. Each week will feature a new challenge to obtain a daily scratch ticket in order to win prizes. All tickets will be entered into a mid-way prize drawing for either a $25 Amazon or Starbucks gift card and a final prize drawing for either a $50 Amazon or Now & Then gift card. There will be multiple opportunities to earn extra entries into the prize drawings.

This year we are happy to add activities for adults along with our teen and children’s challenges. Complete one or more rows on our Fall Reading Bingo sheet and/or complete two fall activities from our activities list and you may win an indoor s’mores maker or a cozy booklover’s pillow. The MCPL will have two guest speakers in October. Watch our Facebook page and website for details about the upcoming author talk on writing nonfiction by Linda McCann and for a performance by Duffy Hudson about the “Black Dahlia” murder mystery hosted by the Friends of the Library.
