Excavator falls through ice on Clear Lake, nobody injured

CLEAR LAKE — Nobody was injured after an excavator fell through the ice on Clear Lake yesterday.

The Yohn Company owned machine broke through the ice near the access by the South Shore Inn at 1603 South Shore Drive at about 4 o’clock. The crew was helping a customer building a sea wall in that area.

A crew from Tony’s Tire Truck and Towing worked through sub-zero wind chills to pull the excavator out of the water at about 9:00 last night. Nobody was injured in the incident.
