Four people injured in Worth County accident

NORTHWOOD — Four people were injured after a vehicle swerved to miss a deer in Worth County last night.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Department says at about 11:45 Tuesday night, they received multiple calls of a vehicle in the ditch in the curve west of Wheelerwood Road on County Road 105, with one person being ejected from the vehicle. Deputies discovered the vehicle in a drainage ditch after rolling multiple times before coming to rest.

There were five people in the vehicle, with four of the five having non-life-threatening injuries. One of the passengers was transported by ambulance while the others sought medical treatment on their own. None of the people in the vehicle have been identified by authorities.

The Sheriff’s Department says the cause of the accident was due to the driver swerving for a deer that ran out in front of them.
