BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA — Jordan Bohannon came up big at crunch time for Iowa. Bohannon scored the last 11 points for the 20th ranked Hawkeyes and finished with 25 in a 77-72 win at Indiana.

Two late three pointers in the opening half got Bohannon going.

Iowa coach Fran McCaffery called it a complete effort.

Indiana falls to 4-8 in the Big Ten. Hoosier coach Archie Miller.

Iowa is now 18-5 overall and 7-5 in the Big Ten. They’ll host Northwestern on Sunday evening.

 

 

IOWA CITY — The 16th ranked Iowa Hawkeye women got 41 points from Megan Gustafson to roll past 19th ranked Michigan State 86-71. Iowa coach Lisa Bluder.

The Hawkeyes led the entire way as they avenged a loss to the Spartans in their Big Ten opener.

Mason City junior guard Makenzie Meyer did not play in last night’s game after hyper-extending a knee during Iowa’s win on Sunday at Penn State. She’s listed as day-to-day. Iowa is now 18-5 overall and 9-3 in the Big Ten.

MASON CITY — The North Central District junior college wrestling tournament will take place on Sunday on the NIACC campus. All five programs participating in the tournament are either ranked or are receiving votes in the latest rankings issued earlier this week. Iowa Central is ranked fourth, Ellsworth is ranked fifth, NIACC is tied for 19th, while Iowa Lakes and Iowa Western were previously ranked and are still receiving votes. The tournament starts at 10 o’clock on Sunday morning. Qualifiers from Sunday’s tournament will wrestle at the national tournament in Council Bluffs on March 1st and 2nd.
