December 11th Worth County Crop Pesticide Clinic (Postponed)

             The Worth County Extension Service annual Crop Clinic/Pesticide Recertification meeting that was scheduled for Friday December 11th at the Diamond Jo Event Center is now being postponed to a later date due to the Covid19 Meeting Gathering Restrictions.

            The private pesticide recertification will likely be moving to a virtual format with dates and times to be determined. Pesticide applicators with questions may call Dennis and Lacey at the Worth County Extension Office at 641-324-1531.

2021 Worth County Fair Calf Weigh-in Suspended with only State Fair Weigh-ins and Identification Required

The Worth County 4-H will not be holding the traditional Fair Calf Weigh-in for 2021, however, all steers and market heifers that plan to be exhibited at the Iowa State Fair must be weighed in and Retinol Scanned to be eligible to exhibit in Des Moines this summer.  Worth County Fair 4-H and FFA members will not be required to weigh-in their calves for the 2021 beef show in June. Those wanting to exhibit at the State Fair will need to make an appointment to get identification and weigh-in of the calves completed by the deadline of February 1st, 2021. Worth County 4-H State Recognition Workshop December 30th

 

            The Worth County Extension Office will host a Virtual Zoom 4-H State Recognition Workshop on Wednesday, December 30th at 10:30 A.M. All 9th grade to 12th grade 4-H members are invited to participate in learning about the many State 4-H Award winning opportunities that are available. Past Worth County 4-H State award winners will be on the Zoom Meeting to share information about how to apply for the awards and recognition trips to Atlanta, Georgia and Washington D.C. The 4-H members will also have a chance to learn about what the duties and responsibilities are of the Iowa State 4-H Council and what the application and interview process is to be able to serve on the 2021-2022 Iowa State 4-H Council Team.
