Man from Fertile jailed after chase Sunday morning

FERTILE — A man from Fertile is in jail after being accused of leading authorities on a high-speed chase over the weekend.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department says a deputy attempted to stop a pickup for a traffic violation near the intersection of 330th Street and Finch Avenue southeast of Fertile at about 1:45 Sunday morning. The pickup fled the stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued on rural roads in Cerro Gordo and Worth counties.

29-year-old Adam Pederson was arrested without incident near the intersection of 348th Street and Dogwood Avenue in Worth County.

Pederson was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail and charged with OWI third offense, eluding, carrying a dangerous weapon while intoxicated, driving while having a driver’s license revoked, operating without an ignition interlock device and failure to have proper insurance.
