No injures after fire destroys structure in northeastern Mason City

MASON CITY — Firefighters are still investigating a structure fire that happened on Sunday night in northeastern Mason City.

The Mason City Fire Department was called at around 6:30 to 1413 North Hampshire according to Captain Jack Odegaard.   “We got a call for a structure fire, fully involved. We pulled up and there was a fully involved structure fire and then there’s two other garages right next that we’re also exposures that also had some damage done to them.”

Odegaard says there was no damage to the homes and nobody was injured.   “Both houses were occupied, but the garage is an offset,so it’s not attached to the house, so there wasn’t really much danger for them, so we left them in place and put the fire out.”

Online county property records show that the property is owned by TDK Real Estate of Nora Springs. Odegaard says a cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
