Osage High School student detained after threat made in school

OSAGE — Authorities say a juvenile has been taken into custody after a threat against staff in the Osage Community School District.

Police Chief Brian Wright says they were contacted on Monday after an alleged threat involving violence with a firearm by an Osage High School student at the school. There is no immediate safety concern to the school or to the public.

The juvenile was taken into custody, placed in a secure juvenile detention center, and charged with threat of terrorism, a Class D felony. The juvenile will continue to be held in a detention center until a hearing is held at a later date.

Wright says while charges have been filed, the investigation is ongoing.
