Police say human remains found in northeastern Mason City

MASON CITY — Mason City police say more information will be released later today after human remains were found on Thursday afternoon in the northeastern portion of the community.

According to a social media post from the Mason City Police Department late Thursday afternoon, officers at about 2:10 PM were called to the 200 block of 7th Northeast for human remains.

The post says officers are working with the medical examiner on the investigation, and that there’s no threat to the community.

The post says more information will be provided later this morning.
