UPDATED STORY — MCHS, John Adams, Alternative schools dismiss early due to water main issue

MASON CITY — Classes at Mason City High School, John Adams Middle School and the Alternative School were dismissed early today due to a water main break.

The break happened on the south side of the high school near the roundabout, causing standing water on the sidewalk and driveway on the southeast side of the school.

The schools dismissed at about 10:00 AM. City crews were scheduled to attempt to repair the break this afternoon.
