IOWA CITY —- Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says the Hawkeyes are working on trying to fix problems in the offensive line. The Hawkeyes had a total of 71 yards of rushing and quarterback Nate Stanley was sacked 10 times in losses to Michigan and Penn State.

Ferentz says they are still searching for the best combinations up front, especially at guard.

Ferentz says despite two straight losses the sky is not falling on the season.

Ferentz says the attitude has remained positive.

Kickoff on Saturday is scheduled for 11 o’clock, with the pre-game scheduled for 9 o’clock on AM-1300 KGLO

AMES —- Iowa State coach Matt Campbell says one good game does not guarantee that freshman Breece Hall will be the starting running back on Saturday at Texas Tech. Hall rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns in a win at West Virginia.

Campbell says Hall’s biggest strength may be his vision.

Campbell says he is proud of the way former Cyclone Allen Lazard has handled his time in the NFL. Lazard had five catches, including a 35 yard touchdown grab in Green Bay’s win over the Detroit Lions.

Campbell believes Lazard will continue to be more of a factor.

Kickoff in Lubbock on Saturday is scheduled for 11 o’clock

CEDAR FALLS — Northern Iowa coach Mark Farley says there is no panic as they get set to host South Dakota. The Panthers are 3-3 after a rare blowout loss, 46-14 at top ranked North Dakota State.

While disappointed with the game Farley says he is more focused on the big picture.

Farley says the Panthers need to get things fixed in a hurry.

After a 1-3 non conference record, the Coyotes opened the Valley race with two lopsided wins. Farley says after giving up 70 points to Oklahoma and 53 to Houston Baptist, the South Dakota defense has made a lot of progress.

Kickoff on Saturday in Cedar Falls is scheduled for 4 o’clock.
