Some locations are forecast to receive up to nine inches of snow by the end of the day Tuesday. .The next storm system to impact Iowa will spread a wintry mix
across southern Iowa later this morning. Later this afternoon the
wintry mix is expected to change over to snow and expand across
the state. Snowfall will become moderate to heavy tonight before
ending Tuesday. Strong wind on the backside of this storm system will
likely produce blowing and drifting snow Tuesday.

* WHAT...A period of mixed precipitation by mid afternoon then
  moderate to occasionally heavy snowfall will develop over the
  area late this afternoon and especially tonight. Snow
  accumulation by Tuesday morning expected to be from 5 to 7
  inches. Winds gusting to 40 mph Tuesday producing patchy blowing
  snow and reduced visibility.

* WHERE...Parts of north central and northeast Iowa.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 6 PM CST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. Patchy
  blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
  commute.

  inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will likely
  produce some blowing and drifting of snow, especially Tuesday
  afternoon into Tuesday evening.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest Wisconsin, north central and
  northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 9 PM CST Tuesday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will likely become hazardous.
  Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The
  hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening
  commute.
