Worth County 4-H Virtual Zoom Meeting November 15

 

                The Worth County Extension Service will be hosting a county wide 4-H meeting to keep 4-H families up to date about a variety of 4-H topics. The meeting will serve as a way to maintain positive communications with everyone involved in the Worth County 4-H program. There will be an update on a state wide food pantry drive led by our Worth County State 4-H Council members Tianna Charlson, Kelsie Kinne, Hannah Lanphere and Cecilia Hill. Their goal is to collect 100 food items per county for a total of 10,000 food pantry items. Further business during the meeting will be to learn about how to properly conduct a 4-H Club meeting with emphasis about high quality parliamentary procedure learning opportunities. The meeting will take place via zoom at 3 P.M. on Sunday, November 15th. Worth County Crop Pesticide Recertification December 11th

        The Worth County Extension Service will hold their annual Crop Pesticide Recertification meeting on Friday, December 11th at the Diamond Jo Event Center, rural Northwood beginning at 9:30 A.M. The program will feature information on Corn and Soybean Insect Pest Management, Corn and Soybean Weed Science and Private Pesticide Recertification.

            The featured speaker will be Dr. Bob Hartzler, ISU State Extension Weed Specialist who will discuss corn and soybean weed control. He will be joined by Angie Rieck-Hinz, Iowa State University Extension Area Crop Specialist. Those wanting to attend the meeting must call the Worth County Extension Office at 641-324-1531 to pre-register for the program. Walk ins may not be guaranteed a seat without pre-registering prior to the meeting by Thursday, December 10th at Noon.

Worth County 4-H State Recognition Workshop December 30th

 

            The Worth County Extension Office will host a 4-H State Recognition Workshop on Wednesday, December 30th at 10:30 A.M. All 9th grade to 12th grade 4-H members are invited to participate in learning about the many State 4-H Award winning opportunities that are available. Past Worth County 4-H State award winners will be on hand to share information about how to apply for the awards and recognition trips to Atlanta, Georgia and Washington D.C. The 4-H members will also have a chance to learn about what the duties and responsibilities are of the Iowa State 4-H Council and what the application and interview process is to be able to serve on the 2021-2022 Iowa State 4-H Council Team.
