.A band of snowfall and strong wind gusts will spur a rapid change in weather conditions across central Iowa over the next few hours. Expect brief moderate to heavy snowfall and winds gusting in excess of 35 to 45 mph, which may create near-blizzard conditions at times in some areas. Travelers should be alert for quickly deteriorating road conditions. The short duration of the snowfall will limit accumulations.

snow. The visibility may be reduced to a quarter mile at times. The limited duration of the snowfall will limit accumulations to
1 to 2 inches or less.

* WHERE…North Central Iowa.

* WHEN…Until noon CST today.

* IMPACTS…Plan on slippery road conditions and visibilities under a quarter mile at times due to intense snow rates and
blowing snow. The hazardous conditions are expected to impact the morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Expect the potential for rapidly deteriorating conditions to approach the Mason City area
between 9 AM and 10 AM.
